Happy Wednesday Dream Team!!
Since today is Veteran’s Day, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about freedom and how it can be a double edged sword in your life.
You see freedom affords you the ability to do what you want, when you want and how you want to do it. You have complete control in your life.
But COMPLETE freedom can be a dangerous thing. That’s why we have laws, age restrictions and policies. Because complete freedom can lead to chaos. And that’s the balance we must always strive to keep – freedom and self-control.
When you are being controlled by OTHERS, then you are giving up your freedom. You’ve given up your power.
You have 100% complete control over yourself and your future.
That’s why I love the concept of Extreme Ownership. You have the power to turn things around and make it better. But you also wield the power to make things worse.
Here’s what you control that can propel you forward….
The effort you put into things
What you eat
How often you workout
How you spend your time
The people you spend time with
What you read, watch and listen to
And here’s things you have power over that can hold you back….
Lack of self-control
Loss of ambition
Lack of purpose
Lack of honesty and integrity
Poor financial management
Very seldom does the glass ceiling come from others. Most of the time, the limitations in our life are SELF-IMPOSED. We get in our own way. Self-sabotage.
Team, I hope today’s email reminds you of how much YOU control in your life. You have freedom. We can thank our armed forces and the leaders in our history books for that.
The best things we can do is Lead From The Front to honor them. We must lead ourselves before we can lead others.
